Vinita Nair
The journalist joined ABC News in July 2004 and has been a reporter on a range of subjects, including that of the Jon Benet Ramsey investigation, as well as school shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair began her career as an ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 and was working for ABC News Now. In her new role she anchors live news reports and coverage for ABC's online network. Nair was co-anchor of World News Now and America This Morning on ABC starting on September 17, 2008, up to February 18, 2011. The show was hosted by Jeremy Hubbard and later Rob Nelson in both shows. Nair announced on Thursday, 17 February 2011, the date for her final night hosting on World News Now would be the 18th of February, Friday. The day she would leave ABC News would be Friday on February 18. Former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her immediate successor. The issue of February 18 on World News Now paid tribute to Nair throughout its three segments. They also had appearances by former and current colleagues like Jeremy Hubbard. When she was done she treated her entire team for breakfast.
