Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who currently competing within the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold medal in the year 2011 and the title of 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia launched her professional career when she was in the year 2003. She has taken home numerous championships, including the K-1 World Championships Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, and WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last time at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut was in 2002, during the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won this fight with a TKO at the end of round two and her following two matches were staged in WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to focus on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa with a unanimous win. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina used her superior striking skills in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch by knees on the body. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina received an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win with a unanimous decision. She losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina returned to the ring after her loss and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission in the second round. The bout earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko lost 1-2 over the next three fights, defeating Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
